Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Review

I Love melee fighting games but there are ususally 2 things that bother me in most. Either there is not enough blood or I am too busy fighting wierd stuff like puppets or monsters and I can never really get that up close and personal experience I get from fighting something that isn't making lots of goofy noises or moves around funny. So I definately enjoy a game that has alot of human like peeps to tare apart and with blood makes it something that peaks my interest. My number 1 melee combat game without a doubt is Ninja gaiden 3: razors edge. It is just perfect so I will be comparing all melee combat to that beautiful work of art.

LET'S BREAK IT DOWN!

GRAPHICS

Graphically the game doesn't come close to it's MGS4 cousin on the ps3 but still where this game shines is it's fast pace action and the fact that it doesn't mis a beat. A smooth frame rate and so much going one give the idea of this game looking good a bump because of what it can do in motion with out the frame rate dipping down.

GAMEPLAY

I think the gameplay is very close to perfect if anything the idea of slow motion killed the perfection of it's combat. I don't like slow motion stuff. I say if you can do it do it all fast!!! why slow it down? Slow is for retards! Speed it up! then speed it up some more! Also a big issue is sub weapons. Just remove them from the game it's stupid. Or give Raiden a dedicated gun to use and mix it in with the combat but dont' force it on people. You should not have to stop to use ranged weapons. Besides he should be throwing knives not using guns to take out stuff it's just goofy.

STORY

The story is heavy with themes of war and death and some inner demons Raiden deals with make for some sick dialogue and unique interaction with his enemies. The story get's goofy at times but the them of life is always present and it is classic metal gear at it's core.

LASTING VALUE/APPEAL

I beat the game and immediately worked on getting my blue wig by choosing missions. Now I can rip things apart no need for slowing down time. there's lots of other things like a stun blade for stealthies but I dont' care about that shit I bought this game to Murder people.

PS4 REVEALED

So the PS4 was revealed on the 20th with?

The most obvious features people would want with next generation technology.
Can instantly play games while there downloading? Seperate processor just for downloading?
Can record anything at anytime with the share button?

Yea.... not innovative these are things people want but it's not ground breaking or original. Microsoft likely already thought about this stuff.

New game announcements
Killzone Shadow fall, Infamous: second son and others that don't really matter like stupid puzzle games and stuff

Game announcements of games already announced and confirmed on 360 and the next xbox lol
Destiny, Watch dogs lol

The controller is the exact same controller as ps3 with added junk piled on top of it. It looks ugly. Likely very bulky and for sure not ergonomic.

You can rest assured all the games they showed will not be at launch at least none of the good ones. rofl.

5 reason I believe Sony will fail next generation

The storm of new gaming is coming and it shall be glorious! New graphics! New ways to play!
But let's be real about our expectation of who is going to be on top. Sony during the ps2 era like the ps1 era crushed it and was on the top of the world when it came to gaming but even being defeated as they were Microsoft had lots of money and at least 1 killer app (*cough Halo). While Nintendo had an abundance of beloved franchises there were timeless.

What does Sony really have? Honestly Sony has what's called a "Cool Factor". Something they achieved first with the ps1 in being the most advanced gaming technology. Then they quickly got the mantle of having the most games on it's platform. Riding into ps2 they still had allot of games and what was still the most powerful console until Microsoft came along.

The Xbox was more powerful but it did not have the support that Sony did.

Fast forward to 360 and ps3 now Microsoft has support and a very powerful console. So Sony is left with out franchises that are not beloved and a powerful console. Sony has tried to catch up this generation but it just didn't happen Microsoft now has 2 if not 3 killer games. Halo Gears Fable? Sony on  the other hand has great franchises but none of which come even close to the return that Microsoft's 2 can perform.

So here are my 5 reason Sony will ultimately fail next generation.

5. Sony does not have good marketing. If you look at a gears of war or halo release you know that everyone and there momma is aware of it due to Microsoft insane marketing blitz for there games. This is on top of the fact that there games are always feature rich and designed to last. Where as Sony's marketing seems to be more focused on word of mouth and the game being an "experience" rather then a substantial feature rich software offering.

4. Xbox Live is more popular then PSN.Numbers don't lie. Xbox Live is huge and PSN is only carrying a fraction for free of what Xbox Live has and get revenue from. PlayStation Plus is a joke. It's no where near the Prophets of xbox live and still has less then a fraction of it's users.

3. lack of third party support. Microsoft will no doubt have the games that people want tied to 360 in one way or another and will make sure they run best on 360 that much we are assured.

2. Microsoft first party games are more profitable then Sony's. Numbers don't lie Halo and Gears do much better then Sony's best. Put them up again Uncharted and God of war any day and halo and gears are much better property's

1. Microsoft has more money. Bill Gates said it himself if Xbox fails they will simply release another one and another one. Because they can.
